Trying to find any information about this body style 1973 220tb.
I can't find another one like this on the internet?

I have a '73 and all I've seen look the same. I'm no expert, they may have made a different front end. Those look like '80's style headlights, Ford truck would be my guess. It may be shadow but it appears there is a seam coming down from the headlight towards the corner of the bumper. Look up in the wheel well and see if there are signs of modification, different glass work.

Hello Woodsman
Thank you for your input. Does your 73 have high headlights or low, I have seen both in pictures. Can you post a picture of yours?

I just found mine and am very intrigued by the eighties look and agree the rectangular lights look like Ford truck.
The line you see is mold. It just arrived home today and I am trying to clean it up this week.

I will get under the wheel wells and look for mods as you suggested. Another odd thing is the panel between the
lights and the lower grill section both look stock eighties style kind of like a Plymouth Horizon but proportioned for the Travco front.
If they could only talk!

If yours is modified they have done a nice job.

I haven't updated my thread in a while. http://www.travcoforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1314

High headlights like what would have been on yours were the norm until mid 73. Early 73s had high headlights and late had low headlights. That is a 92 or later ford PU grille and headlights grafted in with a second grille put below the first. Yours is one of a kind with the mods but underneath it is the same as other 220s.

Thanks!

Yes I found 1992 Ford on the light lenses and well done fiberglass work. There is a deep medium blue paint under the white in areas where the paint has peeled on the back corner. No signs of a belt line contrasting color. Would love to see a picture of one in that original color.
I also found that the engine is stamped J413TH confirming what I was told when I bought it.
The rear frame rails extend past the body about 18 inches and it has what I think is a class four hitch. If everything works out the way I plan I hope to tow a 24' enclosed car trailer with it.

Anyone with experience towing with one of these?

This is my first class A motor home project and I cant believe how cool this thing is.

Well that is a nice find. 413 is a great engine for towing and the 270s had a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs with a proper hitch. The 220 with a 413 is probably the same. Not all Travcos had a band around the middle. Your Travco showed up on The travco lovers page on Facebook when it was being moved.
