New owners

Just bought a 75 220. Drove her home from Detroit to Ky with only fuel filter issues. First step is replacing the windshields. Then an overhaul on the 440 and the suspension. Let the games begin!Image

Welcome to the madness that is Travco. 440 in a 220 must be fun. Is something wrong with the 440 that it needs an overhaul? Suspension is as simple as it gets with leaf springs on all 4 corners. Front end is good old king pns on an I beam axle. A nice addition for the front steering is a steer safe stabilizer. http://www.steersafe.com/shop/steer-safe-unit. Another nice change is a Borgeson Universal joint in the steering column to replace the pot joint. There is info here about those. My 76 Mahal is was showing 101,000 when the speedometer cable broke and the 440 is still going strong. Well I am off to try installing a 120 amp chrysler alternator from an 88 Dodge PU on Nessies 440. It will be a tight fit but if I can get can get it lined up it will be an improvement over the 80 amp Oreillys unit that has now failed me 4 times.
