\nProbably not that bad since these have straight axles. I would think the worst would be a custom drag link. Finding an axle that is the same width and spring perch would be the challenge.\nSo far I have been able to find everything for mine through NAPA by doing a little legwork. I have current part numbers posted in the part number section but down the road, I don't know. I would think rotors and drums will be the first thing to dissapear .\nMost of the older parts even for something as simple as a 4x4 chevy started getting harder and more expensive since all the auto maker bankruptcies. Since Dodge has changed hands a few times and went bankrupt(I think) they pretty much carry nothing to my knowledge. I'm surprised Foretravel even still carries the windshield gaskets which will be another thread since my windshields fell out this weekend...highwaystar wrote:Unfortunately it doesn't seem like anyone has tried the axle swaps. At least no one who has shared any tips on the internet.\n\nThink the most difficult obstacle would be the steering linkage.

I own a 72 M375 270 and am seriously considering a complete axle swap. I have pulled a lot of data from a few websites that a friend hooked me up with. He has built some rock crawlers and those guys change axles and springs and driveshaft's like its cool. I am leaning towards an Isuzu NPR (mid 90's) the Isuzu NPR HD axles and springs seem to be in the same weight class, roll down the road well and there are parts available for them everywhere. I have to get some measurements, but I think it would be worth the effort. especially considering at 43 years old my RV is in good shape underneath and structurally inside, so with new running gear underneath it could last for many years. updated brakes, updated rims, updated tires, and maybe ABS!! \n\nHmmmm, what to do, what to do!!

I think you are onto a good idea. I have considered the Isuzu MD stuff as well. Plenty of them in junkyards wrecked.
