Travco Awning types

Unread post by Pwoudenberg » Wed Jun 28, 2017 4:45 pm

I've just purchased a 1973 Travco 270, and it has an awning that is enclosed in a stainless steel box along the top of the roofline. You just move 3 clips and the box opens up and an awning is available. This awning and legs don't look like the type that are mounted to the bottom of the Travco body like so many others including the picture of the one on this forum. does anyone know if this is a Travco part? Or is it just some random one that was installed later on. Can't decide to keep and replace awning material or just dump altogether and start with new.

As far as I know Travco did not make their own awning. There were quite a few manufacturers out there. Zip Dees contour is one that was used on the airstream and the Travco. Just about any if the awnings used by airstream will work on the Travco.
