What's the travco 960 talk

Unread post by Ryemaddamazin » Thu Jul 11, 2019 10:16 pm

So hey felkers this is ryemadd back..or the travco kid. Haha. I had the 66 270 well still do kinda i got title and it's still there dude just blocked it in evicted me from my shop and lien sold the travco. Real piece of work. But guess what karma got my back I pretty much got a free 72 960 or 270 and 700 bucks. Well I had to get the travco gone and the yard cleaned up. But it's a beaut. Big chief is this majestic beasts name. And it's every bit of big. Been parked for 20 years but promises to start with a tune up and new gas. Tires aren't dry rotted and hold air. So why don't we have a cold start section since so many of these amazing houses on wheels are found 5 to 20 years dry docked. What do u say management can we start a cold start sectiob like tips and tricks and the basic 1 2 3 checklist of what to look at fix ans do to your dusty cold and sleepy trav. I need a checklist mysekd now. I got all the parts and the full 72 original manual and service book. So what next. I know drain tanks full time up brakes and what else....thanjs guys very happy to be back and if anyone has any input on reporting a false lien sale in the bay area Calif let me know
May the wind be at your back the sun above your head and the road outside your travco s windshield

Travco 960 is any Travco after the body change mid 73 when the headlights went from high to low. The body got a little bit wider and was now 96" across hence the 960 name. 270, 220, 290.320 all remained as different lenths of the 960. Good luck getting the new one where you need it.

Check wiring to perko and verify, Check continuity through ignition switch, check starter relay and fusible links at that point.

Ok checked all that. It's cranking just not starting. I replaced the points condenser rotor button I broke the coil waiting in another one should be here soon. Ordered new capacitor and two ballast resistors too. But still no start sounds like no fire haven't checked yet. Been using starter fluid down the carb and an old gas can plugged up to the carb. Any suggestions help. I am pretty sure I did the gap rite on the point breaker.
