RobC's Rig
A few shots of my rig!\n\n\nGlamour shot of Big Al. \n\n \nThere are two penetrations, ostensibly for water. One on the side as shown and another garden hose hookup on the back. How do these two work with the water system/together?\n\n\n\n\nMe shot by my 8 year old. He loves working on the beast.\n

The hose hookup on the rear is for a hose connection such as at a campsite or your house... you need to make sure to place a water pressure regulator at the hose faucet so as not to subject the RV plumbing to high pressures. They are available in the camper section at Wal-Mart, etc for around $5 bucks.\nNot sure what the hole on the side is for. What's there?.. maybe furnace exhaust? If it is water related then it may be a fresh water tank fill.

77: the water tank was under the passenger side bunk bed and probably was a fresh water fill hole on the side. I assume the rear hookup provides pressurized water to the system including the water heater without filing up the fresh water tank?

Yes... there should be a one-way water valve that prevents the fresh water tank from being back filled from the pressurized city connection.

The fresh water pump keeps the city water from flowing back into the tank. They have built in check valves. Most Travcos came equipped with Par water pumps but they are expensive. I replaced mine with a Sureflo. It works just as good. I put ball valves on my outside supply and pump supply so I could isolate it in case of pump failure. Best thing to use in these is pex. If you are using a newer shurflo pump the fittings you would use to connect to a sink faucet work perfectly on the pump. PAR pumps had rubber hose with clamps on a barb. Not a good setup as alot of people end up cracking the bakerlite pump housing trying to get the rubber hose off the barb.
