ONAN Genset gas consumption...
Hello... Question came to mind... What is the fuel/gasoline consumption of a ONAN 6KW Genset????\nI know with some trepidation that the fuel end of the pick-up tube for the genset in the main \ntank is 1/4 of the way from the bottom of the tank. Preventing the genset from using ALL \nof the fuel in the tank and leaving you with nothing for the engine...\nPlanning ahead for some generator powered winter storage usage in the storage lot...\nBTW... 1st day of FALL is on the 22nd and losing a total of 41 minutes of daylight by 10/01/2014\nTNX for any NFO on this subject.... \nBBB

Re: ONAN Genset gas consumption...
I know my 4k Onan used quite a bit in two days of dry camping but I ran it for two days in sweltering heat running the a/c.\nMaybe head over to www.smokstak.com\nThere is alot of Onan info there.

Re: ONAN Genset gas consumption...
Hello... As far as my snooping about... the NFO for the consumption appears to be at about .7 gals per hour.\nAAaanndddd...According to my cheap made in china calculator that comes out to roughly\n5.6 gals per 8 hours...or...16.8 gals per 24 hours. Hhmmmm have to watch that...\nAny rebuttals? Trying get a fix on Genset consumption while RV is in storage...\nBBB

I was going to say about 3/4 gallon per hour for our 6KW Onan gensets but I don't remember where I read that.\nI recently dropped my fuel tank to replace the sender. My genset pickup tube is located in the center of the tank about 1/4 way up and the engine tube is located in the bottom of the front left corner (driver side).
