Motor and transmission mounts

Unread post by KB2CRK » Fri Jan 15, 2016 5:57 pm

Well Nessie will not be making a trip this weekend. The Muffler shop told me there was something wrong with the carrier bearing on the driveshaft and it looked like it had shifted. I got it home and found both motor mounts and the transmission mount had broken and it looks like the whole thing shifted forward when I was testing the brakes that now stop on a quarter. (dime is not possible with this beast....) I am very happy I switched to electric fans as the clutch fan would have taken out the radiator. I have a full set of mounts here. I will have to order a new carrier bearing. While I am at it I will replace the header gaskets as now that the flowmasters have it quiet, One of them is leaking at the head. Next trip is planned for April and I should have it all done by then.

Got the motor and transmission mounts in. Two floor jacks and two chain hoists to get everything back into position. I need to get a different puller to change the hanger bearing on the drive shaft. \nImage\nImage\nImage\nImage

I found my missing transmission mount. Now I have a good spare to hold on to. Need to put it on the shelf with the spare Motor mounts.

Any one willing to share the trans mount number and where I can buy one? I already did my front mounts last summer. Should do the trans mount I guess.\n\nThanks!
