Bleeding Master Cylinder?

Unread postby Zed on Mon Sep 05, 2016 12:41 pm

My shop manual says when checking the brake system to start with bleeding the master cylinder. It says I need part C-4029, basically 2 tubes that screw into the master cylinder output ports and are then routed into the fill bowl and the MC is pumped until no bubbles come out and its bled. I can't find this part anywhere, what are you guys using? Thanks.

I Usually fill the master, Push in the rod and the cover the ports with fingers and release. The only time I ever had one of those kits is when it came with a new master cylinder.

That's all I ever did. It's basically just to "prime" the Master. It's gonna still have air when you connect it anyway. More important is not to run it out of fluid while bleeding the rest. After it's you can bleed it at the master a little then go to the hydravacs then back right wheel, back left wheel right front wheel, left front wheel.

Manual bleeding is definitely a 2 person job.

You can get a kit at NAPA to do it... also find them on Amazon...
