Onan generator wouldn't run
When I bought my Travco I was told that the 4KW Onan generator "Ran as far as they knew" but the fuel pump was removed... hmmm...\nI found the old pump in the coach and bench tested it, (hooked it up to a car battery) sure enough, it was bad. I was going to order one off e-bay for $99 but I ended up getting a new one from a local auto parts store for a little more and I had it in my hand that day.\nAfter I installed the new fuel pump I noticed the carb was flooding the generator so I pulled the intake and carb off as a unit (It's just easier that way and luckily the gaskets didn't tear). Turns out the float needle just needed to be unstuck and cleaned. This carberator is a very simple design, there very are few parts to it.\nI threw in a new set of plugs and it started right up and ran with a load on it (the roof AC). I now have a working generator!

Re: Onan generator wouldn't run
I gotta rebuild my carb as well. That is a NH Onan. That is probably one of the best generators ever made. If you come up with a good source for parts let us know. I have the books on it as well. Always worth fixing. I like no electronics...
