For the New to Travco scene..\na genaric how to post pictures...\nMake a directory on your "c" drive to hold the pics you want to upload...\nCome to this forum and select "post a reply"...\nThen click on "upload attatchment"...\nthen click on "choose file"\nthe "c" drive with various folders will show up...\nselect "local disk "c"\nfind and click on correct file/folder...\nclick on selected pic or item wanting to post,\nname will appear on bottom of "frame"\nclick on "open"...\nthen click on "add the file"...\nsee .... how easy that was?????\nBTW... I think there is a 5 or 6 mb limit per picture, 5 subjects per post and a total of 10MB? per session...\nFWIW... Subject to corrections and comments... this is how I did it!\nBBB

Welcome to Travcoforum!\nI have a 77' Travco 270 myself... Don't sell the 440 short if it is running good, you can buy a lot of gas for the cost of a conversion. There is some good info here on that subject though. Post up some pics and ask away with any questions that you may have.

Re: New to travco scene
hhmmm... me thinks maybe a dirty or worn out hydraulic lifter. Use a "stethascope" to dial in where the noise is... A lifter sound will come and go.. bad rod, main, crank, rocker etc will constantly make noise... As the 440 uses hydraulics, the rocker arms are not adjustable... There used to be a kit or ready made items as adjustable pushrods. With those you could lash out the hydraulics and run them like solids. On my GT I got 427 adjustable rockers and lashed my hydraulics to almost zero... Don't panic yet...\n(Just found 2 methods of lifter fixes on Internet) If you are gonna' do the timing chain thing... \nI would consider a new water pump (440-3 specific) and possibly a flanged thermostat also 440-3 specific while you are at it... \nIMO of course...\nBBB
