Hello all, I'm Apsieguy AKA Flynn. I am a person with High Functioning Autism (HFA). My ultimate goal is to have a 210/220 for myself to live/travel in. That would include a total remodel of the inside. And the addition of a Dodge Diesel motor. I'm of the opinion of "MOPAR OR NO CAR". :D . In the meantime I'm going to to read every single thread to learn everything i can!

Welcome to the forum. Good luck finding that Dodge diesel as they didn't mke one...lol They used a Mitsubishi in the 70s and a Cummins in the late 80 and up. Now you can get a ram truck with a Fiat Diesel... Enjoy the reading
There is a ton of info here and links to even more if needed.

Thanks for the info! But let me rephrase that! When I think of a Dodge Diesel I think of Cummins. So as long as it's a Cummins in my mind it's a Dodge motor!

I wonder how that eco diesel would work in a Travco. It is rated about the same in Horsepower and higher in torque than the 1976 440. If the Cummins crowd is getting 15 mpg what would the eco diesel do???. Interesting posibilities.

Good question. However, Im wanting to go with dead simple. You start messing with that eco/blue tech stuff it gets more complicated.

Very true but the old P pump 5.9s have quite a following and not always the easiest to find. Then of corse you would need an OD transmission or a better ratio for the rear diff. That would probably be easy for a 220 with its 8 lug axles. A dana 70 with the 3.07 out of a late 80s cummins D350 comes to mind.

I have a plan. 8-). I'll find a donor truck. All the running gear and everything switched over. I'm VERY mechanically inclined. I wonder if a front axel from a W350 would work up front? Making it 4x4

To answer your question, 4wd has been done. Custom driveshafts are a necessity. Spring pads on the axle might need moving. The rear may need a lift to level as the front axle will raise the front a little.
