I measured my ceiling height and I have about an inch difference between AC area and the last stringer up front. \n\nMine looks exactly like yours. I better measure my gasket.....\n\nAces when you get a chance measure one of your windshields from the center edge all the way around the corner to the side edge by the slider window.\n\nMine was so badly installed it sticks out about 3/4 inch and I want to make sure the replacement they put it in was from the right era rig. I remember you saying the earlier models were 1/2 shorter around the radius.\n\nRob

The earlier ones are smaller. If yours is a 76 you probably have the right ones. Mine is bulging out in one corner also due to bad install.

Seen many like that. Everyone one I have gotten. Even with good seals the side windows themselves are a poor design and the rails tend to spill over to the inside. I drill the drain holes a little bigger but best bet if possible is keep it under a canopy when not in use.

well, a 6 hr job and a real PIA but it's done. It is definitely a two person job handling the glass and I would not recommend tackling this if you have no experience working with auto glass. You will need two pro grade suction cup handles, a lockring tool , a hook tool, a plastic spoon tool and alot of patience.\nI was able to pull the old glass without cutting the old gasket since it was too small anyway and the glass was pretty much falling out. Once windshields are out, then pull the side windows. Clean the surfaces good on the glass and aluminum on the side vents. You put the new gasket in and use masking tape to hold it in place. I would NOT recommend using glue or silicone. These windshields should float in the gasket. For a lubricant, a glass guy taught me years ago, non pumice Gojo hand cleaner works awesome. Use alot of it. Basically you want the gap/seam of the gasket to meet about halfway up on either the drivers side or passenger side window. I chose drivers. Then you put the vent windows back in. Make sure they are fully seated or you will have a major problem later. Making the new gasket radius is best done with a some gentle heat from a heat gun(don't cook it, just warm it up. I would NOT recommend attempting this in cold weather. Rubber is less flexible and glass more brittle. After the side vents are in then do the two strips of rubber between the vents and the windshields. Then the glass. The first one(I chose pass side but doesn't matter) will go in pretty easy but you will need to make sure it is as far to the vent as possible. When it's in place the glass edge towards the middle of the camper should be about 1/8 inch to the left(if doing left glass) of the center line seam in the camper. It took alot tof gentle massaging to get that 1/8" but if you don't, you'll never get the other side in. At this point I started installing the lockring on the vent window of the side I did the glass first(passenger). I just did the vent so it would not pop out when I was trying to push the windshield over to get my 1/8" from center. Now cut and install your center windshield gasket. Then your otherside glass. I'm not going into detail about how to work the windshield into the gasket because honestly if I have to explain that, you should probably not be tacking this job. The glass is very expensive. I will say the easiest way I found to put the glass in was upper end first then slide over to vent and then work the gasket onto the glass the rest of the way with your hook and spoon.\nGlass feels good and solid now . I am fairly confident the gasket was the issue.

BTW, I chose not to take the mirrors off which made it alot more painful installing the lock ring . If yours come out without cutting the bolts, I would recommend removing them.

That's a scary job knowing how rare the windshields are! I hope I never have to do this... \nLooks like you did a good job, I'm guessing that you had some helpers?

This job is in my near future. The glass guys in town here said they would not touch it due the fogging and risk the glass will break where it delaminated.\n\nI think I talked those guys into making a house call off without the company logo though.\n\nNice work Aces.
