Fridge Vents
on the driver side amidships are two vents where the stock refer was located. One is down low likely where the compressor was located. with the grate off I could climb through it at roughly 18 x 18 inches. the other one is through the roof directly above the one I just described but maybe a foot closer to the middle of vehicle from the upper corner. This one is rectangular 4 by 12 or 14 inches with a screen on it but no apparent weather lid or weather proofing.\n\nCan some one enlighten me as why there are two vents? I assume for a three way fridge- lower vent to keep the compressor cool and one or propane exhaust when running on propane?\n\nRob

Re: Fridge Vents
The bottom vent lets air in, the top vent lets it out. Heat rises so the heat from the Propane is vented properly. Alot of Mid 70's Travco's had 12v/110 fridges non propane and did not have the lower vent. Mine was one of them. I had to cut the lower vent in.

Thanks Aces. Is there any special ducting you do or is the enclosed fridge cabinet enough to route warm air/exhaust to the ceiling vent?

\nThat's what mine has right now. It only works on 110V ac though... took me awhile to figure that out.Acesneights wrote:Alot of Mid 70's Travco's had 12v/110 fridges non propane and did not have the lower vent. Mine was one of them. I had to cut the lower vent in.

Re: Fridge Vents
\nNope, just install the vent.\nPage 2 of my thread shows some pics of my install. Pretty easy, just make sure you measure and cut the hole in the right place.... \nhttp://www.travcoforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=12&start=10RobC wrote:Thanks Aces. \nYeah that is why you don't have the lower vent. When you upgrade you will have to run an LP line to it and cut a vent in the side like I did.77Travco wrote:\nThat's what mine has right now.
