Travco 210

Unread postby rcb on Tue Mar 26, 2013 10:12 am

This is just more for info/reference to be corrected as I find more.

It looks as if 1968 was the first year for the 210. 68 models have the skirting. 1969 Models do not have the skirts. The 68 210 has 6 lug wheels. Whether this is built on the P-375 or the M-300 I don't know. However the 69 210's all seem to have 8 lug wheels, suggesting an M-300 chassis.

In 1970 it appears that the 220 replaced the 210, but also on the M-300 chassis.

I can find no photos of 1970 210s, nor anything earlier than 1968, so it would seem it was a 2 year model.

So you're looking for a 68 model 210 then?.. I wonder how many were made? I will keep my eyes open!

Yes. Ideally. But a 69 in the right condition and right price I probably wouldn't turn my nose up at. I figure it will take a while. The other one I'm looking at is a Hall GTC... extremely rare. Or a Chinook Futura... also rare hahaha. Ah well I'm hoping nothing comes across my path until late summer so I can button up this ramcharger and relax for a few months. :-)

A little more info

http://1950vagabond.com/

So now, I believe that the 68 210 was built on the P-300 chassis (noting the 6 lug wheels... and forward control). In 1969 the M-300 chassis was introduced, featuring 8 lug wheels.

So that may solve that mystery. The 210's are odd ducks aren't they? :)

I had a 68 210 years ago...it was on the M-300 chassis. I now have a 1970 210 same chassis.

Also, the 210's are very scarce indeed! I had been looking for many years before I finally found our new one.

Best of luck in your quest.

Thanks... yeah it might take a while.. or find one of the others we are looking at. So your 68 was an 8 lug?

MB-300 is what I was told by a Dodge guy where I had tires and brakes done. But that was 23 years ago.

I have noticed that 210's seem to have many "Mid-year" changes and a variety of configurations weather it be wheels, interior, or other features.

1970 as far as I can tell.

But I have seen more 1970 220's then 210's. As a matter of fact mine is the first 1970 210 I have ever seen.

The 210 does seem to be the redheaded stepchild. I heard it wasn't particularly popular compared to the 270. I have heard there was a 240... but that may have just been hear-say. I've certainly never seen one.
