Generators section?
Seems to me that it would be good to have a section for generators used in Travco's. Perhaps in the Maintenance section?\n I have lots of questions like can my old Onan carb be rebuilt, and can it handle the E10 gas that is messing up lots of other similar equipment... I'm aware of smokstak site, but I'd like to hear how other Travco owners are handling various generator issues.\n\nThanks!

Re: Generators section?
Most of the generator info is in the interior electrical section. There are also manuals in the technical documents section.

We discussed this before. I'm not against it but honestly smokstak.com is the place to go for Onan help. Those guys are the pros.

Re: Generators section?
Oops, I meant smokstak.\nStill think that generators deserves its own section, after all it is part of a Travco (arguably, not exactly in the interior either).\nNot trying to cause problems, just a suggestion from a newbie

Re: Generators section?
No Problem. I'll ask Private Pilot to add it.

Re: Generators section?
\nIt can be rebuilt but the parts are expensive and sometimes difficult to find although some are still available(afaik) from Cummins/onan. A float was 55$\nNo they don't like ethanol any better than any other older carb'd engine. The biggest thing is getting the points set correctly(CCK series) and setting the rpms to the correct Hz. You will need a DMM that reads Hz.\nThe biggest problem is getting the carb off without the bolts breaking on the intake/ex manifold(another pricey piece).\nYo can take the top of the carb off without unbolting it from the manifold. If you go to remove the carb, be prepared for broken bolts.Dodgy71 wrote:Seems to me that it would be good to have a section for generators used in Travco's. Re: Generators section?
They are very temperamental with electric fuel pumps too. too high of pressure will cause them to flood. I use a cheap low pressure electric pump with a pressure regulator from Summit racing dialed down to 1. The correct walbro fuel pump is very expensive.

Re: Generators section?
I guess I am lucky as my Onans carb comes off easily and the original fuel pump is still good.
