Saved from the Crusher....

Unread post by Travfan » Tue Mar 10, 2020 11:14 pm

I just bought this 1969 Travco 270 from the local wrecking yard and it was about to be crushed. It was picked up at a house where apparently crack heads were living in it for years and I have to remove about 6 trash bags of garbage. Even though the interior needs to be completely redone, overall it's not in bad shape. The 440 engine runs fine but the transmission is toast.
I'd like to find one for parts or buy parts from someone in the Pacific Northwest and so if anyone is parting one out, please let me know. I need a generator door, main door frame, lower outside compartment latches and some other items. I could also use a good 727 transmission.
Has anyone ever converted this style to incorporate the engine service door that was used on the 1973 and later models? That sure would be handy.

Welcome! Looks to be in surprisingly good shape on the outside indeed. Lots of resources here to help out.

The engine must have been replaced because it has a mid 1970's 440.
