Steer Safe, Safe T Plus ?
I was looking into one of these steering stabilizer set ups. Has anyone used either of these? From a design point I am leaning towards the Steer safe as it does not use the tie rods as part of the stabilization linkage. The safe T Plus is about $100 cheaper. The steer safe has a lifetime warranty. I was hoping to see if anyone had tried either and see what their experience was with it.

Never had one but I'd be curious. All those things really do it take road shock out of the wheel. It won't solve wandering .

Nessie doesn't wander much but does react to the wonderful roads here in Georgia. I also like the idea of a safety for a front blowout.

Re: Steer Safe, Safe T Plus ?
I put the steer safe on this winter. I have drum brakes so had to weld a bracket on to the back of the drum backing plate for the springs to connect to. With Discs this is supposed to be a bolt on but cannot vouch for that.\n\nThe prior owner had the kind that use two coil overs which connect from the center of the axle out to both sides of tie rod. Not exactly the same as safe t plus which uses one shock absorber.\n\nI never drove the vehicle with no system. The Steer safes work a bit better than the installed system but the coil overs were also very old and may have been worn out.\n\nI noticed a less of the need to constantly be correcting with the steer safe so I am satisfied with the $400 investment. Plus the safety in a blow out situation which I don't think you would get on a safe t plus.

Thanks for the info. Nessie has the disc brakes on the front so the steer safe should be a bolt on. I was underneath the front end today verifying the front shocks I ordered were right and checking for any looseness in the tie rods. Ill be checking the kingpins when I replace the input seal on the steering box. Steer safe looks like a simple basic system.

Re: Steer Safe, Safe T Plus ?
I just ordered the Steer Safe unit and it should get here by Monday. I should be able to bolt it on on Wednesday as I will be out of town until Tuesday night. Steering box seal replacement will be at the same time along with new front shocks as the drivers side lower shock bushing has swollen up and started to pop out due to the steering leak. If the king pins look good it will be on. If not it will wait until the following week so I can replace those.

Just got the Steer Safe on today. Everything bolted right up. Going camping starting Sunday at Hunting Island in SC. About a 5 hour drive down mostly back roads. Only about a 25 mile stretch on I 20. I will report back after the trip.
