New Travco Owner

Unread post by twitchy88 » Tue May 16, 2017 9:14 am

Hello\n\nI just picked this up on the weekend, was told its a 1964. It has no engine or transmission and has been sitting at a campground for 15 years. How can I find the year is there a serial number anywhere? She needs work but I plan to redo it completely, including a 24 valve cummins swap.

Hard to tell by pics... wheel wells tell me it's a 69 or newer.\nHigh mounted quad headlights would be a 68 or older. High mounted single headlights were from 69 to early 73. Low mounted single headlights are from mid/late 73 on.\nThere should be a tag inside the outside front access cover that flips down under the windshield. Is there a title or insurance card? They would show the year model.

Welcome to the forum. It is not a 64 though. Single high headlights are from 69 to early 73. The vin should be stamped on the chassis in the right front wheel well and on a tag somewhere inside. The tag on the flip down hood up front started in late 73.\nKeep us posted on the work and all the tricks to getting the cummins up and running.

Can't say that I've ever seen front 3 piece windows like that.

\n\nLooks like someone maybe made some changes then? Wheel wells say 69 and newer, but it has high mounted quad lights

Thanks everyone!\n\nI would love to find a VIN somewhere now and get it registered properly, maybe track down the last owner for more information. Does anyone know where else it is besides the front frame and radiator compartment? Can someone post a picture where it is on the front frame on theirs?

As I am a proponent for converting to flat glass for the windshields, \nI would be extremely interested in a view of a three piece windshield \nmaybe figuring out how it was applied...\nas one stated is on this unit...I cant seem to spot this...\nTNX\nBBB

Hello badbillybiker\n\nI think they were referring to the side window and not the windshield.
