Jut bought a 1969 210 Diesel Project
I final found the 210 I have been waiting for... my search parameters changed somewhat over the years. \nI ended up buying this yesterday.\n\n1969 210 with a 1992 (6BT)12 valve Cummings diesel and trans swap started and abandoned. He saved every thing he pulled off the Travco and it comes with a 1971 270 for parts. The engine and trans are in place and drive shaft rebalanced /rebuilt and installed. A new 4 core radiator as well as the brackets to put it and the intercooler have been fabricated and test fit. The interior is out floors where pulled frame is beautiful and repaintedand new floors cut to fit. New spray foam applied for insulation. The front suspension is all rebuilt. The transmission that came with the Cummings was rebuilt with upgraded parts to help handle the weight of the Travco. There is a lot of work left to finish but a lot of time and money has already been put into it.

Congrats on your find. Sounds like you got a great starting point. We have had our Mahal for 3 1/2 years now and still working on it although it has been kept usable for camping trips. No trips planned this year due to health issues but work will continue as my health improves. New kitchen counter, finishing the ceiling with Faux tin and fuel injection on the 440 are on the list to be completed.

Thanks, I am pretty happy to finally find one. \nWe own a Vintage camper restoration shop so Once we get the drivetrain install finished up we should be able to handle the rest no problem. \nI spent a lot of time traveling in my grandfathers Mahal as a kid. They are great lots of great memories for me in the Travco.

Good for you. We would look forward to hearing about your 210 diesel project. It sounded nice. We spoke with the owner of the one you just bought a couple of times, but then we found another 210 closer to home. We just purchased our 210 this past week. It has the 318 engine but we are considering the 5.9 Cummins diesel. Sure would like to hear your thoughts on yours.

Well I haven’t updated this thread for a long time because I didn’t have the 210 home yet. It is supposed to be getting delivered tomorrow morning to my shop and I will try to post some pictures. The parts Travco that came with it was delivered today out to my farm. He said it is a 270 and it has a Mahal emblem on the side of it I’m not sure what year it is it’s been raining I haven’t looked at it much since it got dropped off.

The Mahal and 270 share the same basic design. The door location and floor plans are the difference.
